One of the most common complaints about computers is that they run too slowly. You click on your web browser expecting to see your home page spring up, and instead you wait a few minutes for it to load. There are a few potential causes for this, but the biggest one is usually "bloatware."

By now, most Internet users have a pretty good idea what "phishing" is. We know not to respond to former Nigerian leaders' requests for bank account details, and in the last few years we've gotten a bit better about not giving out passwords and other information when an email asks for it. But a newer threat called scareware is trying to take the place of those now-familiar scams.
